After years of traveling the Northeast, steadily building a reputation as a live act not to be missed, Asbury based Turtle Soup ended the 2016 year playing 3 mind-blowing sets at Souper Groove Music Festival – the band’s fourth annual sold out, multi-day music and camping event. During the final night of the festival, Turtle Soup amazed thousands of fans in attendance with a monster set featuring sits-ins from jam greats such as Todd Stoops, Bernard Purdie, TM Stevens, David “Fuze” Fiuczynski as the “Souper Groove All-Stars”.
In their relatively brief history, Turtle Soup has shared the stage with some of the best known bands musicians in the scene including Umphrey’s McGee, Furthur, Moe., Blues Traveler, Break Science, Max Creek, George Clinton, Marco Benevento, Steve Kimock, The Marshall Tucker Band, Little Feat and more, earning rave reviews from fans, peers and press with their energetic style and unique songwriting. The Soup has also performed at some of the best music festivals in the northeast like Wormtown, Strangecreek, New York Harvest Fest, Jersey Shore Music Fest, Opple Topple, Some Kind of Jam as well as regular sets at some of the most well known traditional music venues in the NYC area such as the Stone Pony and the Cutting Room.
Turtle Soup’s first two studio releases have been well received by producers, music fans and critics alike earning the band a spot as New Groove of the Month on jambands.com and helping them win the Asbury Music Awards 5 times in a row for “best jamband”. Additionally, tracks from the band appeared on compilations from Warner Bros., the New Jersey Jazz & Blues Foundation and Brookdale Public Radio. With an EP release due in the fall of 2016, Turtle Soup is preparing to expand their touring base and turn on new fans everywhere.
